Synopsis: The “Origin” article explores the source of one of the oldest myths: the Dragon. It highlights the origins of the mythical creature, while addressing its modern analogues.
The Origin of the Dragon
Lynn University asked some of its alumni to submit articles for one of their catalogs. I chose to submit a piece about the origins of the Dragon.
The Dragon is a prominent staple of many different cultures. Each interpretation of this creature is different. However, many similarities exist between these cultural interpretations. When presented with varied contrasting variations of a singular creature, a singular question must be asked: what is the true origin of the dragon? The answer to this question is multi-faceted.
Message:
The history of the dragon is filled with legends and tales of historical, religious, and sociological importance.
While each interpretation of the mythical creature differs, depending on the region of the globe, most versions of the dragon have the same origin: serpents.
